MISS INDIA Pooja Chopra Won "Beauty with a Purpose" Title

Miss India Pooja Chopra was eliminated from the Miss World pageant after failing to make it to the final round of seven competitors. But, she was one of the fast track contest winners to make it to the last 16.

Pooja Chopra proved that she is not just another girl with a pretty face from India. Pooja who championed the cause of the girl child walked away with the 'Beauty with a Purpose' title.

The odds were against Pooja who had twisted her ankle just days before the finals. Never one to go back on a challenge, Pooja walked the ramp during the finals in a prosthetic leg.

Of over one hundred gorgeous women, Pooja stood out for her courage and determination.

Pooja who has always attributed her successes to her mother who had single-handedly raised two girls after being thrown out by her wayward husband was happy that she could make it to the semis. Pooja has often told the media that her mentor, guide, inspiration and friend is her mother.
Beautiful and confident Pooja Chopra was crowned Miss India World earlier this year at the glittering finale to the Miss India pageant in Mumbai. Other winners crowned with Pooja included Miss India Universe Ekta Chaudhary and Miss India Earth Shriya Kishore.
